Worked in library media center for 2 hours
o Today I began work on revising the research guide that students use when they come into the library to do research. The reason for the revision was that we wanted to update the information based on the new, 7th edition, MLA handbook.
o To do so, I used the handbook and looked up the formatting for the various materials that we cited on the handouts for everything from print resources and also online websites and resources.
o I was making revisions to both a general handout/guide for research using the MLA style and also one to be used during orientation for the 9th graders. Overall, this process was very time consuming because I had to carefully identify changes that have been made since the 6th edition of the MLA handbook and make appropriate changes to the research sheets.
