Worked in library media center for 1 hour, 30 minutes
o Today I worked to weed the reference section. The reference area makes up quite a bit of the Tremper High School Library Media Center. Basically, I slowly made my way through the reference area examining titles that were older or falling apart. One thing that I tired to focus on what the need to update titles that were frequently used because they are a part of the curriculum. The other area I really focused on were titles that would either need updating entirely or through the addition of newer volumes that contain more up-to-date information. For example, in the series on presidents, our library only goes up to a volume on the Clinton Years, so by now there should be another volume that could be ordered on the Bush years.
o Overall, this process is slow and tedious and I was only able to weed half of the reference section today. Tomorrow I plan to try and finish this process.
